So this morning, I met my cubemate for the first time; he'd been out of town visiting DC during my first week. We immediately launched into a discussion about which war memorial was the most effective (Winners: Vietnam and Lincoln, Loser: WW2), then drifted into a comparison of our favorite Pixar opening shorts (Winner: Presto, hands down), and discussed the "Dragon's Lair", the meeting-room-cum-D&D-den (decorated with first-through-third edition manuals) immediately opposite us. Later, my next-door cubemate informed me that they had an ongoing game of "Assassination", and that if I wanted in, I'd best arm myself with some Nerf ASAP. I also received an invitation to join both the Friday Donut Club and the Weekly Workout group, have sampled three fo the six flavors available on the third floor ice-cream bar, and have agreed to help support the "good coffee" pool for our immediate area.
Yeah, I'm gonna fit in here just fine.
And yes, I know exactly how lucky I am.
Holy crap, Jane. Where the hell are you working, and can you get me an interview? Oh my dear God, Assassination... I thought one's chances to play that outside of a college dorm were essentially nil.
Congratulations on the job, by the way. Sorry we barely got to hang out with you guys during Wizard World.
I work at Biggs|Gilmore, a big advertising agency here in town (http://www.biggs-gilmore.com) that's just a mile from my house. They work you crazy, crazy hard for deadlines, but make up for it in between. At this point in my life, I'm willing to sacrifice some weekends for perks and a good paycheck. It all works out.
If you and Charlie come through Kzoo again, I'll treat you both to icecream and show you around. You're always welcome!
