This weekend has been a ton of work, but it was all good. Between Saturday and Sunday (and a visit to my mom's house) I spent about 20 hours putting up food: 18 quarts of tomatoes, a mostly-failed batch of steamed apple cider that only gave two quarts, a highly successful batch of grape juice that yielded 8 quarts, a gallon of yogurt, a batch of dried apples, a batch of dried pears, a batch of kale chips and 5 pounds of sauerkraut.
Phew.
And now the kitchen is clean and I am reading and making comics.
This morning I plowed through five graphic novels and liked them all: Satchel Paige: Striking out Jim Crow, Pendragon: Merchant of Death(though all for Carla's art), Incognegro, One! Hundred! Demons!, and most of New York Four. I drank tea and ate Paul's best omelets and had a very nice morning of it.
Oh, and before I forget, an apology is due: the other day, I was cleaning out a couple hundred spam comments and inadvertently deleted the last dozen or so legit ones posted here, most of them from The Omnivore's Hundred post -- and I'm really, really sorry, guys, but there's no way to retrieve them. Poo.
