It's going to be too hard to write a complete trip report -- we just saw too much amazing stuff. I kept a diary during the trip, but even copying parts out here would take hours. So rather than spend more time annotating my vacation than I actually spent on the vacation, I'm going to post some thumbnails from each day, with commentary. Enjoy!
Oh, and one more thing worth mentioning: The week after we visited, the crew of the Lady Washington helped make a young pirate captain's wish come true. How awesome is that?
Okay, that is freaking AWESOME! Did you know people at the Lady Washington, or how did you end up on a battle sail, and climbing masts, and being so generally all over the place?? That looks fantastic!
Arrrr, Matey, I be pleased ta hear o' yer fine times aboard th' Lady Washington, an' even moreso ta hear o' them scurvy dogs a-grantin' wishes fer young folk.
Welcome back ter port, Matey!
Emily: I've been a fan of the Lady Washington for a while now, and just by pure chance we were both in the same city at the same time, so I begged and pleaded with the other three folks to indulge me and tag along on a battle sail.
How did I get the tour? From sharing pure unadulterated nerdery, with the ship's purser, in the crew's mess.
Hey! I'm so glad you had so much fun. I'm finally home and off the boat, myself. Time to let the suntan fade and become an internet gnome again, for a while.
Yay! Thanks for being such a big part of my having so much fun, and do keep in touch!
