So -- I'm planning on putting a significant chunk of the new book up online, soon. This will happen as soon as I'm sure the interior of the book is done, so, like, within the next 2-3 months (and yes, Jen Contino will still get first release.) Although I lack one of those poll-thingies, what do readers want to see?
1) the whole thing
2) the first 40 pages, same as the small minicomic preview I sold last year
3) the first half (60pp)
4) don't care
At the moment, I'm leaning towards the 40-page idea. That way I can have a 30-page preview of the first book and a 40-page preview of the second book, both online for perusal.
Thoughts?
4) don't care
I already know I'm buying it, so the preview won't influence me one way or the other. Which is probably the case for most of the people who are reading your blog. You might want to try posting this on a couple of the general-interest comics boards (cbr, comicon, tart, etc.) to see what kind of response you get (i.e., "If you never heard of me or my book, how much of a preview would it take to convince you to pre-order it?").
I'd put in a vote for the 40 page preview.

Will there be a request to pre-order the book and get an extra sketch, like the previous book ? Although my niece can't read the book (can't read and doesn't speak english), she loves the sketch that is hanging over her bed.

Kevin:
You know, that's a really good idea. As I get closer, I'll definitely do that.

I'm not planning on doing so, at this point, but then again, my printing bill is looking like being upwards of $8500 USD, so you never know. It's a distinct possibility, especially with return customers such as yourself. ;)
One thing I *will* be doing is having a fire sale of art from the first book. Probably $100 per page; anything to earn some extra cash and get some pages cleared out.
