Not all fan art is drawn... check out this wonderful poem by Becky Cooper. I originally commissioned it for inclusion in Old Ghosts but it didn't quite fit. That doesn't stop it from being an awesome poem, though -- it'd be a real shame if people didn't get to read it.
Little bird flying between the wind
and your own fears, full of ghosts,
visions, and places, you teach us
to trust in bursts of tiny lightning
Faint scents of oil and metal and rain
subdue us with memory,
your memories come to you sideways
when you should be dreaming
You think about the past,
find a door when there is so much
past to think about
a way thought closed forever
more than nine lifetimes
more than gears, cages, and keys,
death is passed down, a mean heirloom
which makes all music, all craic, all
of us Romani, duskie, busker alike
share flight.
